Acoustic Energy – AE2 40th Anniversary Edition – Bookshelf Speakers (Available for Pre Order)

Acoustic Energy AE2 40th Anniversary Stand-Mount SpeakersThe Acoustic Energy AE2 40th Anniversary is a limited-edition high-end stand-mount speaker created to celebrate one of Acoustic Energys most revered loudspeaker designs. Developed from the heritage of the original AE2 Signature, this premium 2-way speaker combines classic British hi-fi character with modern driver technology, advanced cabinet engineering and exceptional dynamic capability.Designed for music enthusiasts who want the scale and authority of a compact floorstanding speaker without sacrificing the imaging precision and placement flexibility of a stand-mount design, the AE2 40th Anniversary delivers deep bass extension, strong midrange clarity and an open, detailed treble response. It is an excellent choice for serious stereo hi-fi systems in larger listening rooms, particularly spaces above approximately 25m.The speaker features a 29mm anodised aluminium dome tweeter with a larger voice coil and ferrofluid cooling for controlled, low-distortion high frequencies. Two newly developed 125mm spun aluminium mid/bass drivers use hard-anodised ceramic-coated cones to improve rigidity, efficiency and airflow, helping the AE2 produce fast, articulate bass and impressive dynamic headroom.A carefully engineered low-order crossover preserves musical timing and coherence, delivering a natural midrange, powerful dynamics and a lively, engaging presentation across a wide range of music. The triple reflex-ported cabinet is constructed from Acoustic Energys RSC constrained-layer HDF and bitumen material, with internal bracing and strategically positioned steel plates to reduce cabinet resonance and unwanted colouration.Finished in either High Gloss Walnut veneer or High Gloss Black, the Acoustic Energy AE2 40th Anniversary is a refined statement loudspeaker for listeners seeking premium bookshelf speakers with exceptional scale, punch and musical realism.Key FeaturesLimited-edition Acoustic Energy AE2 40th Anniversary stand-mount speakersPremium 2-way design inspired by the original AE2 Signature29mm anodised aluminium dome tweeter with ferrofluid coolingDual 125mm spun and hard-anodised aluminium mid/bass driversCeramic-coated driver cones for improved rigidity and lower distortionLow-order crossover for a fast, natural and dynamic soundTriple reflex-ported cabinet for enhanced bass extensionRSC constrained-layer HDF and bitumen cabinet constructionInternally braced enclosure with strategically placed steel platesIdeal for high-end stereo hi-fi systems and larger listening roomsAvailable in High Gloss Walnut and High Gloss Black finishesMagnetic cloth grilles includedTechnical SpecificationsSpecificationDetailsSpeaker Type2-way stand-mount loudspeakerTweeter29mm anodised aluminium domeMid/Bass Drivers2 x 125mm spun and hard-anodised aluminium coneFrequency Range35Hz 45kHz (6dB)Sensitivity88dB / 2.83V / 1mPower Handling200WCrossover Frequency2.2kHzImpedance6 ohmsCabinet DesignTriple reflex-portedCabinet Construction1832mm RSC constrained-layer HDF/bitumen, braced with 3mm steel platesGrillesMagnetic cloth grillesDimensions (H x W x D)295 x 180 x 240mmWeight14.5kg eachFinishesHigh Gloss Walnut, High Gloss Black Reviews There are no reviews yet.
